A Momentous Occasion: Elegbeji Family Basks In Glory As MHR Elect Princess Dr. Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji Triumphs

The Elegbeji family of Ibido Land in Sagamu Local Government Area recently gathered to celebrate the electoral triumph of Princess Dr. Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji, newly elected Member of the House of Representatives for Remo Federal Constituency, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC. The celebration took place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the family home in Ibido, Sagamu, following her victory in the Remo bye-election held on August 16, 2025. Otunba Gboyega Ayoola Elegbeji, the Otunba Tayese of Ibido Land, served as the event’s convener.
Mr. Bashiru Elegbeji opened the proceedings with a warm welcome to all attendees and shared the inspiring story of the Elegbeji family.
His Royal Highness Oba Kolawole Adeyemi, the Negbuwa of Ibido, acknowledged the presence of His Royal Highness Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya, Ewusi of Makun Land, and expressed gratitude for everyone’s attendance. He encouraged continued support for Princess Elegbeji, emphasizing her potential to foster meaningful development in Remo Land, and concluded with prayers for her success in office.
Addressing the gathering, Princess Dr. Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her family, relatives, and the people of Remo Land for their support during her campaign, declaring her victory to be a collective achievement. She reflected on her journey from humble beginnings in politics and honored the legacy of her late father, Pa. Ayoola Elegbeji, a revered political leader. She acknowledged her predecessor, Rt. Hon. Adewumi Oriyomi Onanuga, also known as Ijaya, for her contributions while committing to deliver even greater results for Remo Land.
Princess Elegbeji extended her appreciation to His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, the Governor of Ogun State, for his support, urging both her family and the people of Ogun State to back the governor’s efforts towards state development. She also recognized His Royal Majesty Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Akarigbo of Remo Land, for his mentorship and guidance. She concluded by assuring the people of Remo Land of her dedication to fostering development and called for their continued support as she prepares to take her oath of office on September 16, 2025.
His Royal Highness Oba Timothy Oyesola Akinsanya also spoke, urging Princess Elegbeji to fulfill her promises to the people of Remo Land. He highlighted the need for improved infrastructure, healthcare, education, job opportunities, and community amenities. He encouraged her to continue her family’s legacy, surpassing even that of her late predecessor, Ijaya.
The event, covered by Genesis Media Hub, was attended by notable figures, including Akogun Jamiu Olododo, Akogun of Makun Land, Otunba Tola Olutayo, Governor’s Liaison Officer for Sagamu 1 Constituency (Ofin), several political leaders from the APC, various community chiefs, youth from the area, family members, and well-wishers who came together to celebrate Princess Elegbeji’s remarkable achievement.
