Breaking Barriers: Sagamu NYCN And Partners Unlock Job Prospects For Youths

In a determined effort to foster growth and development among the youth and residents of Sagamu Local Government Area, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), under the leadership of Comrade Yusuf Adebayo, has mobilized its Site Committee. Led by Comrade Adeolu Adesanya, the committee has been tasked with addressing critical issues affecting local communities, with a focus on job creation, empowerment opportunities, and improving infrastructure.
The NYCN has embarked on an ambitious agenda to engage various stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in collaboration with local businesses. Recent endeavors took a significant turn during a meeting on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with the Human Resources Managers of CBC Global, and Furniture Lithium, two key companies in the region.
The meeting yielded fruitful discussions aimed at aligning corporate initiatives with the developmental needs of the youth in the area. However, the dialogue was marred by an unexpected visit from a group of individuals claiming to represent an umbrella body of youth associations in Sagamu. This group reportedly issued threats during their encounter with the companies, prompting the NYCN in Sagamu to swiftly condemn such actions. The council distanced itself from these individuals, reaffirming its commitment to constructive engagement and collaboration.
Despite the disruption caused by the unauthorized self acclaimed youth body, the Site Committee maintained its focus on building positive relationships with both CBC Global and Furniture Lithium. The outcome of the meeting was encouraging, with the companies announcing available job positions for Auxiliary Nurses and Experienced Personnel—opportunities the NYCN aims to promote among the youth in the community.

“We are dedicated to ensuring that the youth in Sagamu, regardless of their location, towns, communities, associations or qualifications, benefit from these initiatives,” said Comrade Adeolu Adesanya, after the successful meeting. “Our efforts will not only create job opportunities but will also empower our young people, fostering a spirit of collaboration that transcends boundaries.”
The NYCN pledges to continue its advocacy for youth empowerment by leveraging partnerships with local businesses and addressing pressing issues faced by residents in every corner of Sagamu. As the council steers its initiatives forward, it remains committed to transparency and positive dialogue, assuring all Sagamites of its unrelenting efforts toward continual growth and development.
The NYCN, Sagamu LGA, is taking substantial steps to improve the lives of local youth and residents. Through effective communication and collaboration with local businesses, the council hopes to create sustainable job opportunities and foster a collaborative community spirit, all while firmly rejecting intimidation and divisive behaviors.
