Comr. Saliu Olamide Daniel Owoseni, Candidate For General Secretary, Remo Youth Association (RYA) 2026 Elections, Petions Electoral Committee’s Over Alleged Forgery Of Signature On Nominations Form
Date: 13th April, 2026)
To:
Comrade Muyiwa Osularu
The Chairman-Elect,
Remo Youth Association (RYA),
Remo Land, Ogun State.
CONGRATULATIONS AND FORMAL DISSATISFACTIONS LETTER ON THE DISQUALIFICATION OF MY CANDIDACY DURING THE RYA 2026 ELECTIONS EXERCISE
Dear Chairman-Elect, Comrade Muyiwa Osularu;
I write to formally congratulate you on your emergence as the duly elected Chairman of the Remo Youth Association (RYA). Your victory is a testament to the confidence reposed in your leadership capacity, and it is my sincere belief that your tenure will usher in progressive development, unity, and renewed purpose for the youths, the Association, and the entire Remo Land.
However, I am constrained to bring to your esteemed attention my deep concern and dissatisfaction regarding the disqualification of my candidacy for the position of General Secretary during the RYA 2026 Elections held on Sunday, 12th April, 2026 at Ilara Remo, area of Remo North Local Government, Ogun State .
My disqualification, as announced by Comrade Gbenga Odumosu, was based on allegations of forgery purportedly discovered in my nomination form. I wish to categorically state that this allegation is false, unfounded, and does not reflect the true circumstances surrounding my nomination. The said form was duly and faithfully endorsed by the Alase Agemo of Ijoku Land on behalf of the Ijoku Community, and due to the tight schedule of my Community, Ijoku, Youth President Comrade Apelogun Lukman, the form was signed on behalf of him by Mr. Sokoya Musbaudeen the Vice President of my community, Ijoku, Sagamu.
It is particularly disheartening that Comrade Apelogun Lukman was not given the opportunity to address the matter or clarify the authenticity of the signature when he was called upon. This omission significantly undermines the credibility of the allegation and renders it baseless. Furthermore, I was not afforded any opportunity to defend myself or respond to the accusation during the election proceedings, which I consider a clear denial of my fundamental right to fair hearing and freedom of expression.
Additionally, I wish to state that the allegation appears to have stemmed from an unrelated disagreement between youth groups in my community and that of Agura, which should not have been allowed to influence the integrity of the electoral process.
It is also important to note that I was duly screened and cleared by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Comrade Sesan Agbolade, and was officially declared after the screening exercise as eligible candidate to contest prior to the election. It is therefore both surprising and unjustifiable that such an allegation would surface on election day, leading to my disqualification without due process.
More concerning is the fact that the individual who announced my disqualification was neither a member of the Electoral Committee nor officially designated as an observer of the election. This raises serious questions about the legitimacy and procedural integrity of the decision taken.
Despite the provocation and injustice, I chose to maintain peace and order throughout the process in the interest of the Association and to ensure the success of the election, rather than allow the situation to degenerate into chaos, as I believe this is the right time for me to express my concerns.
In light of the foregoing, I respectfully urge your good office to conduct a thorough and impartial review of this matter. I also request that the Electoral Committee Chairman, Comrade Sesan Agbolade, be directed to revisit the issue and take necessary steps to rectify the injustice by officially recognizing and announcing my candidacy as the rightful winner of the General Secretary position of the RYA 2026 Elections within the next 72 hours.
Kindly consider this as a formal petition seeking redress and justice.
Please accept the assurances of my highest regards.
