‎FG Declares Friday, September 5, 2025, As Public Holiday For Eid-ul-Mawlid

The Federal Government has officially designated Friday, September 5, 2025, as a public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Mawlid, celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

‎In a statement released by Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, on behalf of the Minister, well wishes were extended to Muslims across Nigeria and beyond. The statement encourages all to reflect on the virtues exemplified by the Prophet, including peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion.

‎Additionally, the statement invites Nigerians of all faiths to take this occasion to pray for peace, security, and stability in the nation, while actively supporting the government’s initiatives for unity and development.

‎The Minister of Interior wishes all Muslims a joyous and peaceful Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration.
