Nigeria At 66: Betta Edu Congratulates Nigerians, Says Tinubu Reforms Creating New Opportunities for Grassroots Women

Dr Betta Edu, Director of Women Mobilisation, All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, saying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms are opening new opportunities for women, particularly at the grassroots. She urged women to identify available government programmes and take advantage of them.

In a statement marking the anniversary, Edu said her directorate would intensify door-to-door sensitisation and community mobilisation to ensure women and households receive information about opportunities in agriculture, enterprise, energy, infrastructure, skills development and social investment under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

She said the benefits of government reforms would be more meaningful when citizens understand what opportunities are available, how to access them and the institutions responsible for delivering them. Edu also said grassroots structures would be used to mobilise support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, while calling for unity, peaceful coexistence and greater commitment to national development.

Edu also paid tribute to Nigeria’s founding fathers and heroines, saying their sacrifices and vision laid the foundation for the country’s independence. She congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad, urging citizens to continue contributing to a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
