The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) is excited to announce a pivotal achievement in its quest for a comprehensive legislative framework aimed at fostering youth development across Nigeria.
On October 28th, representatives from NYCN, led by His Youthfulness, Amb. Babangida Onimisi Isah, convened with Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims, the Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, at the National Assembly in Abuja.
During this important meeting, Amb. Babangida requested Hon. Halims to sponsor a bill to enact the National Youth Council of Nigeria Act, drawing inspiration from similar legislations implemented in various countries. In a promising response, Hon. Halims not only agreed to champion the proposal but also assured that he would advocate for its expedited passage within the House.
”We are delighted to receive this commitment from Hon. Halims, which highlights his unwavering support for youth empowerment,” expressed Babangida Isah. “This significant development brings us a step closer to fulfilling our vision of a stronger and more effective NYCN that will drive meaningful change for Nigerian youth.”
The leadership of NYCN extends its heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Halims for his support and anticipates a fruitful collaboration with him and the House of Representatives to bring this essential legislation to fruition.
