In preparations for the 35th edition of Yemoro Festival Day, representating the Onijagba-In-Council, the secretary who also doubled as the Chairman of year 2024 Yemoro Festival, Chief Amusan Tajudeen Sunday, has declared the Yemoro Festival Open, kick-starting with football competition at Onijagba palace today.
The Chief, therefore started by appreciating God for the successes recorded in previous years edition and commended the organisers for this year’s 2024 edition of the football competition, which is an integral part of the games among many other for the entire festivity.
The competition’s grand finale will be held on Wednesday, Friday May 30th, 2024, at yet to be announced stadium in Sagamu, Ogun State.
The press statement was made available to newsmen by the Committee Chairman on media and publicity, Comrade Bashiru Hammed Adewale (Prince Lahbash) on Thursday.
The Ijagba youth President, Wole Olowu also gave the assurance during a media briefing held at the Onijagba Palace to herald the Yemoro Festival Day beginning on Sunday March 12th, 2024.
Furtherance in declaring the year 2024 Yemoro Festival Day open, the Ijagba Youth President, Wole Olowu charges all participating athletes and football groups team to compete fairly, shun all forms of anti-social behaviour and the use of performance-enhancing substances to come out magnanimous in victory and gracious in defeat.
The Ijagba Youth Vice President, Comrade Atoloye Nurudeen disclosed on Thursday afternoon at the Onijagba Palace that; “this year festival ceremony is going to be another landmark achievement of our administration in the area of youths and sports development in the community.”

Comrade Ogundein Babatope, the Ijagba Youth Treasurer also charge all participants in the football competition to ensure that the matches are friendly enough to accommodate one another.
The Onijagba-In-Council that was ably represented by their secretary, Chief Amusan Tajudeen Sunday, commended all the Stakeholders and central committee, for working assiduously to ensure delivering of a successful Festival that the community can be proud of, calling on the sons and daughters of Ijagba community both home and abroad to encourage committees, especially the youths.
