Ogun State Government Affirms Commitment To Free Quality Education For Public Schools

The Ogun State Government has reaffirmed its dedication to providing free, high-quality, and standardized education for pupils in public primary schools.
During a sensitization program aimed at boosting student enrollment in the Ogun East senatorial district, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, made this commitment clear on Wednesday. The initiative seeks to address the issue of out-of-school children by informing parents and guardians about the state government’s free education program.
Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko, and other officials, Arigbabu praised the governor for his commitment not only to education but also to essential sectors such as health, transportation, agriculture, and infrastructure.
The commissioner emphasized that comprehensive procedures are in place to facilitate a smooth enrollment process. He encouraged parents to seize the opportunity for free registration and to enroll their school-age children in preferred public primary schools, with registration available daily from 9 AM throughout the designated period.
“We are educating parents on the importance of registering their school-age children in public primary schools at no cost. Additionally, we offer nursery sessions for children aged three, staffed by qualified teachers in a conducive learning environment,” Arigbabu noted.
Community leaders, including the Iyaloja of Oba Sikiru Adetona Market, Mrs. Wuraola Kuforiji; the Iyaloja of Olabisi Onabanjo Market, Ita-Osu, Mrs. Oloruntedo Ogunba; the Iyaloja of Sabo, Sagamu, Mrs. Idowu Haruna; and the Iyaloja of Awolowo Market, Sagamu, Mrs. Esther Osilesi, expressed their appreciation for the commissioner and his team’s dedication to ensuring access to quality education for school-age children.
