The Ogun State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, on Wednesday formally presented his running mate, Mrs. Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun, to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in Abuja, in what political observers have described as a significant step in preparations for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

The high-level meeting, held at the Presidential Villa, brought together prominent leaders and stakeholders of the ruling APC, including elder statesman and former Interim National Chairman of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, former Ogun State Governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba, and the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.

Also in attendance were Senator Adeola’s wife, Mrs. Temitope Adeola, and the husband of the deputy governorship candidate, Hon. Abdul Razak Balogun, alongside other party loyalists and associates.

The presentation afforded President Tinubu the opportunity to formally receive the Ogun APC governorship ticket and interact with the gubernatorial team ahead of the forthcoming election cycle. During the engagement, the President reportedly offered his blessings, strategic guidance, and words of encouragement to the candidates as they prepare for the political journey towards 2027.

Speaking after the meeting, Senator Adeola described the visit as a major milestone in the collective efforts of the APC to sustain and deepen the developmental progress recorded in Ogun State over the years.

He expressed profound appreciation to President Tinubu for his continued support, fatherly counsel, and unwavering commitment to the growth and stability of both the APC and the nation at large.

According to the governorship candidate, the endorsement and encouragement received from the President further strengthen the resolve of the party’s leadership and supporters to work towards a prosperous future for Ogun State.

Senator Adeola also reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a government built on inclusiveness, economic advancement, and people-oriented policies. He pledged to work closely with his running mate, party leaders, and critical stakeholders across the state to deliver impactful governance that addresses the aspirations of the people.

Political analysts view the formal presentation as a strategic move aimed at consolidating party unity and strengthening the APC’s preparations ahead of what is expected to be a keenly contested governorship election in Ogun State.

With the blessing of the party’s national leadership and the support of key stakeholders, the Adeola-Adegunwa Balogun ticket is expected to intensify consultations and grassroots engagements as momentum gradually builds towards the 2027 polls.
