Open Letter To Governor Dapo Abiodun: A Call For Thoughtful Candidate Selection Ahead Of The 2025 Remo Federal Constituency By-election

An open letter addressed to His Excellency, Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, MFR, CON, has surfaced, urging the governor to exercise careful deliberation in selecting the ideal APC candidate for the upcoming Remo Federal Constituency by-election in 2025.

Comrade Saliu Olamide Daniel Owoseni, a prominent member of the APC from Ward 5 in Sagamu Local Government, highlighted the importance of ensuring that the chosen candidate embodies both strong qualifications and broad acceptance among the electorate. Recognizing the political landscape, Owoseni emphasized that a candidate with deep grassroots ties is crucial for ensuring the party’s success in this pivotal election.

“Choosing a candidate without local popularity could threaten our chances at the polls,” writes Owoseni. “Such a decision could also impact your own aspirations for the Ogun East Senatorial District seat in 2027, making it imperative that we proceed with caution.”

Acknowledging the competitive political climate in the Remo Constituency, particularly with the influential presence of Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu from the PDP, the letter urged for a candidate capable of mounting a strong challenge against the party’s opponents. Given the PDP’s resurgence during the last gubernatorial elections, securing a robust APC candidate becomes imperative.
