NYCN Sagamu Branch Shows Solidarity, Seeks Partnership With Local Companies On Youths Development

The leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Sagamu branch, under the guidance of Comrade Yusuf Adebayo, paid a significant solidarity visit to various companies in the Sagamu area today, November 7, 2025. This visit aimed to strengthen ties between local businesses and the youth council while advocating for support and collaboration regarding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
During the meeting, which brought together key stakeholders from both the NYCN and the participating companies, discussions focused on enhancing opportunities for the youth of Sagamu. The council emphasized the importance of creating avenues for employment, empowerment, and skill acquisition programs that could benefit the local youth community.
Comrade Adebayo expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from local businesses and articulated a vision for future collaborations, particularly in relation to a series of ambitious projects organized by the NYCN set to launch next month in December 2025. This initiative aims to foster youth development and create sustainable opportunities for the young people of Sagamu.
A highlight of the discussions included a heartfelt thank-you to the companies for their contributions during the recently concluded bakery initiatives training program. This successful program empowered over 50 young women with essential start-up tools and certificates, showcasing the positive impact of corporate partnerships on local communities.
However, the visit also addressed pressing concerns. The leadership of the NYCN learned about recent troubling incidents involving some youths in Sagamu engaging in theft and vandalism within local factories. Evidence presented during the discussions outlined instances of individuals causing disturbances by demanding unexpected rewards and threatening company personnel.
In response to these actions, Comrade Adebayo and his team made a strong statement distancing the NYCN from such behavior. “We, the youth of Sagamu, are respectful comrades and honorable representatives from all areas within the Sagamu local government. We will not tarnish the legacy of our fathers’ land,” he affirmed, reiterating the council’s commitment to uphold the reputation and integrity of the youth in their community.
The visit also featured the presence of other executive members of the Sagamu NYCN, including Deputy Coordinator Comrade Lanre Oyederu, PRO II Comrade Saliu Olamide Daniel, and Auditor Comrade Adesanya Ganiyu Adeolu, alongside other dedicated members of the council.
As the NYCN Sagamu branch continues to engage with local businesses, the emphasis remains on fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes the development and empowerment of the youth, ensuring that future generations can thrive and contribute positively to the community.
