Empowering Remo’s Next Generations: Oyeleke Folajuwon Oluwole Sponsors Youth Athletes At MTN Champ 3rd Edition

Oyeleke Folajuwon Oluwole, a leading aspirant for the House of Representatives from the Remo Federal Constituency, has made headlines by sponsoring ten talented athletes to the MTN Champ 3rd Edition, held from March 12th to 16th, 2025, at the Samuel Ogbomudia Stadium in Benin City, area of Edo State.

The sponsored athletes showcased their skills with impressive performances, bringing home several medals. In the boys’ division, Ajibare Ibrahim reached the semifinals in both the 100m and 200m events, alongside securing a bronze medal in the 4x100m relay, where he teamed up with Ohayaba Marvellous and Olaniyi Sodiq, both of whom also earned bronze medals in the same event. Adeniji Muideen, who also reached the semifinals in the 100m and 200m, contributed to the team’s success.

On the girls’ side, standout performances included Owei Success and Kehinde Ramot, both semifinals in the 400m and 100m categories, respectively, along with their teammates Olaniyi Haliyat and Olarewaju Kehinde, who secured silver medals in the 4x100m relay.

During the event, Oluwole emphasized the importance of supporting young athletes and enhancing sports development in the Remo community. He pledged rewards and compensations for the athletes that comes out as best in the competition, and to also offer further opportunities for talented individuals, promising to facilitate slots for most outstanding athletes to compete at international stage. “This is just the beginning; we must invest in our youth to help them develop their skills on the local, state, national, and international stage,” he stated.

Coach Wale, who accompanied the team, expressed gratitude towards Oluwole for his unwavering support, highlighting that his involvement in sports and community upliftment predates his political aspirations. “Oluwole’s commitment to supporting young athletes exemplifies his dedication to the growth of the Remo community,” he remarked.

Looking ahead, Coach Wale announced that the next phase of the competition will take place on April 8th, 2025, at Yaba Tech and Unilag in Lagos State. He called upon other philanthropic individuals in Remo Land to join Oluwole in championing the development of sports in the area, stressing that fostering athletic talent is crucial for the community’s future.
