Oyeleke Folajuwon Oluwole Attends National Assembly Pension Reform Engagement, Reaffirms Commitment To People-Centered Representation

Standing for Remo and appreciating true leadership, I had the honour of participating in the Stakeholders Engagement on the Amendment of the Pension Reform Act, 2014, convened by the House Committee on Pensions at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja. The two-day engagement, scheduled for May 19th and 20th, is part of legislative consultations pursuant to Section 88(2)(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, aimed at addressing critical issues in Nigeria’s pension administration and reform.

This important national dialogue brought together legislators, civil society actors, experts, and advocates to shape a more inclusive and dignified pension system for Nigeria. I commend Rep. Hussaini Mohammed Jallo, Chairman of the Committee, and Hon. (Dr) Prince Olaide Lateef Mohammed (Polam), Vice Chairman and representative of Irepo/Orelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency, for their people-focused and transparent approach to legislative reform.

During the engagement, I had a meaningful interaction with Hon. Polam. After I introduced myself as an aspirant for the Remo Federal Constituency seat, he responded with warmth and encouragement. He expressed optimism about my aspiration and shared kind words that strengthened my resolve. I am deeply grateful for his encouragement—it affirms the importance of leadership that inspires and supports the next generation.

This journey is about showing up before the mandate comes—listening to our people, understanding their needs, and speaking up for policies that protect and uplift them. I am not waiting to be elected to start serving. I am already standing where it matters, ensuring that the well-being of the Remo people is part of the national conversation.

Our parents, teachers, civil servants, and every hardworking Nigerian deserve a pension system that honors their service and secures their future. As an aspirant, I remain committed to a People-First Agenda—governance that is compassionate, responsive, and centered on the dignity and needs of every citizen.
