Remo Youth Association (RYA) Holds Monthly General Meeting In Sotubo Sagamu, Emphasizes Development And Unity

The apex body of all youth associations and organizations in Remo Land, the Remo Youth Association (RYA) convened its monthly general meeting on March 9, 2025, at the historic Ayanperuwa Palace in Sotubo Sagamu, focusing on strategic discussions for youth development in Remo Land. Chaired by Comrade Bidemi Solarin, the gathering highlighted crucial initiatives aimed at empowering the youth and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.

The meeting commenced with a heartfelt moment of silence in memory of the late Dr. Doyin Okupe, a revered leader and father figure to the youth, who recently passed away at the age of 72. Chairman Bidemi expressed condolences on behalf of the RYA, praying for comfort for the bereaved family and honoring Dr. Okupe’s lasting contributions to the community.

A significant highlight of the meeting was the official introduction and induction of the newly inaugurated youth executives of the Sotubo Youth Council to RYA members. This transition reinforces the association’s commitment to inclusive leadership and youth engagement.

Among the key agenda items discussed was an upcoming program titled “An Interactive Session with All Aspirants from Remo Contesting for the House of Representatives Seat.” This initiative seeks to create a platform for dialogue between the youth, the community, and aspirants vying for political office, allowing for direct engagement and discussion on pertinent issues.

Chairman Bidemi firmly denounced these claims, labeling them as unfounded rumors propagated by detractors. He urged members of the community to seek accurate information directly from the association rather than relying on speculation. “While my tenure may eventually end, the name of this noble association will endure. We must protect its legacy,” he stated, calling for unity and collaboration to build a more prosperous future for the youth of Remo Land.

Comrade Bidemi further announced that the association has initiated legal proceedings to address the allegations, asserting that appropriate steps will be taken to reveal the sources of misinformation and hold them accountable. “The Remo Youth Association is a treasured entity that will not be tarnished lightly,” he affirmed.

The annual meeting was well-attended, with notable youth leaders, stakeholders, and some former executives present, reaffirming the collective commitment to empower and uplift the youth of Remo Land.

As the RYA continues to move forward, the focus remains on collaboration, transparency, and strategic planning to achieve meaningful development within the community.
