Sunday Igboho’s 2hrs Ultimatum Works: Abducted Victims Released, Igboho Community Celebrates

Residents of Igboho and surrounding communities in Oyo State erupted in celebration on Saturday following the release of several kidnapped victims, just hours after prominent Yoruba Nation advocate, Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, issued a two-hour ultimatum demanding their freedom.
The development has brought temporary relief to a region that had been gripped by fear and mounting tension amid a series of reported abductions and security concerns. The release of the victims is also believed to have averted a potentially volatile situation that many feared could escalate into a broader communal crisis within the Oke-Ogun axis of Oyo State.
Earlier on Saturday, Sunday Igboho publicly called on leaders of the Fulani community residing in the area to either produce those allegedly responsible for the kidnappings or ensure the immediate release of the abducted persons before the expiration of his two-hour deadline. The ultimatum quickly generated widespread attention and heightened anxiety across the region, prompting concerns about possible unrest.
Although the exact circumstances surrounding the victims’ release remain unclear, local sources confirmed that the abductees regained their freedom and have since reunited with their families. The news sparked scenes of joy and celebration in Igboho, where residents had reportedly been living under the shadow of insecurity and uncertainty.
Community members expressed relief over the safe return of the victims, describing the development as a welcome breakthrough in an area that has witnessed recurring security challenges in recent years.
Sources within the community indicated that security agencies, including military personnel and police tactical units, had been placed on heightened alert following the ultimatum in a bid to maintain peace and prevent any breakdown of law and order.
